BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — It started with a simple traffic stop in Battle Creek and produced a serious arrest.
Officers noticed a car blaring loud music at Capital Avenue Southwest near Beckley Road at about 8:35 p.m. Thursday. The 35-year-old driver was also spotted with a marijuana cigarette in his hand.
The driver was arrested for possession and it was discovered his license had been suspended.
That led to a search of his vehicle, where officers found a large amount of methamphetamine and the materials needed to make more of the drug.
They also seized $192.
A check of the man’s record revealed he was still out on bond for a previous meth offense, making him a habitual offender.
