KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — City officials issued a boil water advisory for a portion of Kalamazoo. The advisory, which went into affect on Friday, November 26, is for the area of Whites Road to Duke Street to South Westnedge Avenue.
It includes the northeast and southeast corners of Whites Road and Duke Street, but not the northwest and southwest corners of South Westnedge Avenue and Whites Road.
In a release, officials said the advisory came about due to a water main break, causing pressure to drop, possibly allowing bacteria into the system.
They went onto say that the boil water advisory is precautionary, and that no bacteria had been found as of Friday, November 26. Authorities expect to have the advisory lifted by Monday, November 29.
