BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Battle Creek firefighters were able to contain an accidental fire to one of the units in a residential home that has been converted to multi-family rental in the 100 block of Bryant Street.
The call came in after 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Investigators say it was sparked by something left cooking on the stove unattended. By the time first responders arrived, everyone had evacuated the building.
There were no injuries.
Fire officials estimate damage to the structure and property at $70,000.
