COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — A collision between two tractor-trailers turned into a tower of flames and smoke after the impact burst diesel tanks and the fuel caught fire, consuming both trucks.
One was hauling gravel and the other was hauling plastic racks. It happened on East Michigan Avenue in Comstock Township at about 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Both drivers managed to escape, one of them with the help of passersby after his truck rolled on its side.
One driver and a firefighter were transported to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
