KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety said tips from two citizens made it possible to remove two loaded handguns and four criminal offenders from the streets of Kalamazoo over the weekend.
The first call came in Friday night on Heatherdowns Lane after a tipster saw a man shoot a gun into an occupied car. They gave a detailed description of the gunman’s vehicle.
Officers were able to pull it over and arrest the 20-year-old driver on a concealed weapons charge. They victims of the shooting never came forward.
A passenger in his 30s was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
The second call came at 3 a.m. Sunday morning when they got a tip that an armed male was in a vehicle in the area of Ada Street.
A man in his 20s was arrested for being a felon in possession of a handgun and carrying a concealed weapon. His passenger was also arrested for an outstanding warrant.
All four have been booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail.
