THREE RIVERS MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A decision to remove pride flags from classrooms in the Three Rivers School District continues to prompt comments from parents, while district officials attempt to assure those who have children in the schools that their safety is the utmost concern.
Acting Superintendent Nikki Nash told WWMT News that the district has reached out to its legal experts, and that the Board of Education is set to meet on December 6th to discuss the issue.
An alumnus of the district reported that apparently a challenge to the flags being in the rooms reached board members, and the decision was made then to remove them.
No specific reason was given for the move.
