KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Gazelle Sports dedicated their weekly “herd run” to raising money for the victims of Kalamazoo’s bike crash in Cooper Township Wednesday evening, pledging to match the profits from t-shirt sales up to a thousand dollars.
Friday night’s Growlers game will also be a benefit for the victims. Racheal Kaiser with the Kalamazoo Strong organization says they have had this game planned for a long time.
In fact it was originally scheduled to be a fundraiser for the victims of the mass murders in February. Now it will raise money for all the victims of Kalamazoo’s twin tragedies.
Contrast that with what is happening at C.O. Brown Stadium in Battle Creek Friday night. The Battle Creek Bombers are inviting fans to bring their guns to their home game for a gun appreciation night.
It comes less than two weeks after the massacre in Orlando and months after the mass shooting in Kalamazoo that left four Battle Creek residents dead.
The promoters are calling it a “2nd Amendment Education Night”. It’s being sponsored by a local gun shop. Team Management says it was also scheduled long before recent events.
