KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Two drug suspects are expected to be formally charged Friday in Kalamazoo District Court.
We heard the complaints during Monday’s city commission meeting from one resident on Ada Street that there are too many drugs and prostitutes and too much violence in his neighborhood and he demanded the city of Kalamazoo do something about it.
Thursday morning, Kalamazoo Pubic Safety officers approached a drug dealer after watching him conduct a transaction in the 600 block. They took him into custody for possession of crack cocaine and a pair of outstanding warrants.
Three hours later, officers served a search warrant at a home that was also in the 600 block. They seized several baggies of crack, marijuana, a drug scale and $6,000.
The occupant of the home was arrested for possession with intent to deliver and maintaining a drug house.
Both suspects are 33-year-old residents of Kalamazoo.
