KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation says drivers can expect lengthy delays downtown on Saturday.
A double-lane closure of East Michigan Avenue will span from South Kalamazoo Mall to Portage Street.
“Any time during the day, if you’re traveling through downtown you may want to route your way around M-43 east of Park Street,” MDOT spokesperson Nick Schirripa said.
Schirripa said traffic will be slow in the area.
“It’s going to be a chokepoint for sure,” Schirripa said. “That’s a utility job. Obviously, utilities are important and they need to do the work.”
Schirripa said the work should be done by 6 p.m.
