BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Five people have now been charged with allegedly participating in a sex trafficking ring that took three teenage girls, befriended them, groomed them and then used drugs and coercion to put them to work as prostitutes.
They worked out of motels in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, according to the Battle Creek Police Department.
Anna Armstrong, Michael Noble and James Smith were the first to be arrested and charged.
On Thursday, Dakota Walters and Edward Williams were arraigned.
All five have been charged with human trafficking. Smith and Williams have also been charged with two counts each of criminal sexual conduct.
Bond was set for all five at $500,000 each.
