KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officials say one person suffered non life threatening injuries in a drive-by shooting Sunday afternoon.
Around 1:00 p.m. police were called to the 1100 block of Hotop Avenue on the report of shots being fired. When officers arrived in the area to investigate the report they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers rendered aid to the victim, conducted interviews, and canvassed the surrounding area for evidence and witnesses. They learned that the occupant of a moving motor vehicle discharged a firearm multiple times, striking the victim.
The victim was transported to a local hospital. The injuries sustained are not considered life-threatening.
