KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Authorities say the Kalamazoo man who gunned down the mother of his children and left her bleeding Monday night has now been charged with attempted murder, four gun felonies and a domestic violence count.
Kharis Richardson, 25, is being held on $250,000 bond in the Kalamazoo County Jail.
Captain Victor Ledbetter with Kalamazoo Public Safety says the victim was found on the ground in the 1500 block of Krom Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Monday after 911 calls came in about a shooting.
The name of the victim has not been released, but Kalamazoo County Commissioner Stephanie Moore claims the victim is her 22-year-old niece.
She is listed in stable condition at Borgess Medical Center after she survived multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso.
The gun has not been recovered.
