KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A person accused of causing a head-on crash on D Avenue West in Alamo Township is behind bars after attempting to run from first-responding Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies.
Investigators say the suspected at-fault driver was traveling westbound when they crossed the roadway’s centerline and struck an eastbound vehicle near Ravine Road at around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
The victim suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive.
Alcohol-related charges are pending. The incident remains under investigation.
According to a press release, the driver has been identified by investigators. That person’s name was not disclosed.
