LAWTON (WKZO-AM) — A pioneer and a driving force in the creation of West Michigan’s wine industry has died unexpectedly at the age of 65.
David Braganini, the President of St. Julian Winery, died on Tuesday.
His obituary said he was born in Kalamazoo, earned a bachelor’s degree at King’s College and took over the winery founded by his parents. The winery was of the first in west Michigan to begin branching out from the sweet concord grape wines that were mainly produced regionally then, into all the varieties that are available today.
Braganini served on many boards, liked to travel, collect antiques and was a Notre Dame fan.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s in Paw Paw.
