PORTAGE (WKZO-AM) — Portage Public Safety had to pry a woman out of the wreckage of her Jeep after a teen ran a red light at Centre and S. Westnedge, just south of Portage City Hall Sunday evening at 7:15.
As often happens with teenaged drivers, he had two teen friends from Scotts in his Dodge Caravan and apparently was distracted.
The Jeep was northbound on Westnedge and had the green light.
The 37-year-old driver was transported to Bronson E.R. with non-life threatening injuries.
The at-fault driver suffered minor injuries and was also taken to Bronson. The two other teens in his van, and two young boys in the jeep were not injured. It remains under investigation.
