KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety says they have seized several guns and made two arrests responding to a pair of domestic assault complaints Sunday.
Police were dispatched to 1000 block of Hazard Avenue at 8:20 a.m. and found a victim who claims there was a fight between roommates. One of them, a 72-year-old man, threatened the victim and fired a shotgun into the ceiling and into the occupied apartment upstairs.
He faces a felony domestic assault and two gun charges.
About three hours later in the 1000 block of Newland Place, a second 911 caller complained that during a domestic dispute between a brother and sister and her boyfriend, the 21-year-old brother pulled out a handgun on the couple, and then hid it in the home after 911 was called.
A warrant resulted in the seizure of two nine-millimeter handguns, a 20-gauge shotgun and a taser. Both suspects will likely be charged Monday.
