ANTWERP TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 27000 block of County Road 364 very early Tuesday morning on a report of a prowler.
The deputies were in the yard of the home of the where the 911 call originated, when they heard a disturbance next door. When they investigated, they found an intoxicated 19-year-old with a .12-gauge Mossberg pump-action shotgun.
The youngster attempted to flee but didn’t get far before he was apprehended.
He was arrested for being drunk with a gun and for being a minor in possession.
They later found out he was also an ex-convict, which added being a felon in possession of a gun, and more charges may follow.
It’s not clear if the teen was the prowler the neighbor was complaining about.
