KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Two young males are in custody and a third is being sought after they worked as a team to steal a cell phone from a woman on the Kalamazoo Mall as she was using it.
She told police that one of them snatched it right out of her hand and they all sped off. The Crime was captured on several security cameras downtown and a description was immediately released to patrol officers.
Sgt. Scott Sanderson spotted the three suspects near the intersection of W. Paterson and Douglas Avenue and they immediately fled.
Two were captured and the phone recovered.
Also seized was a realistic looking but fake hand gun.
The third suspect has been identified and is being sought. They face larceny and resisting arrest charges. Their ages were not released.
