KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Police are no longer looking for the gunman who shot a 17-year-old woman in an apartment in the 2100 block of Sunnyside Drive in Kalamazoo Township.
The parents of the 15-year-old male from Kalamazoo have surrendered him to township detectives. He has been lodged at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home and the case referred to the family division.
Officers were dispatched at about early Wednesday and found the teen lying on the floor of the apartment bleeding from a single bullet wound to the chest.
Officers began first aid until paramedics arrived. She remains in critical condition.
Her name and the suspect’s name have not been released. The weapon has yet to be found.
