BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A Battle Creek man has been ordered to trial on a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge for crimes that were committed against 16-year-old girl at gunpoint in May.
The child was using a shortcut through the woods to get home from school. Police say Allen French knew that because they had seen each other on a previous date when he was out hunting for mushrooms
That was one of the reasons she was able to describe the man to police after the attack.
French is being held without bond.
