BARRY COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — Michigan State Police say a failed marriage, alcohol and guns appear to have resulted in a murder-suicide in Barry County.
Police say they got a 911 call Sunday afternoon reporting problems at the home on Vedder Road. A woman was worried her husband had been drinking for several days after she had filed for divorce earlier in the month.
The call was suddenly cut off.
Troopers say Timothy Hunt, 51, was just leaving as they arrived and he almost immediately killed himself with a shot gun.
They discovered the body of Leigh Ann Hunt, 46, when they went inside.
Autopsies have been scheduled. It will remain under investigation until those results are in.
