KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — The Kalamazoo Township board has agreed to tap a higher power to help their police department.
It’s not an armored car from the Pentagon or more funding from Lansing,
It’s a chaplain for their officers, to offer consolation, advice and someone to talk with during rough times or when dealing with traumatic situations.
Supervisor Ron Reid said Police Chief Tim Bourgeois notified him that they had been in contact with a non-denominational group of local pastors who lend their support on a volunteer basis when the need arises.
One of them will be assigned to the township.
