BLOOMINGDALE (WKZO-AM) — Van Buren County Deputies have three teenagers in custody, charged with robbing a bank with a fake gun they made out of cardboard.
The two sisters and a 15-year-old boy walked in to the Chemical Bank Branch in Bloomingdale Thursday afternoon wearing hoodies and surgical masks and demanded money from the tellers.
Using surveillance footage from the bank and other businesses in town, they were able to get out a very detailed description of the teens and their getaway vehicle.
An Allegan County Deputy recognized the teens from the description and a surveillance at their home in Lee Township lead to their arrest just hours after the heist.
17-year-old Ebony Dukes is being held on a million dollars bond.
The other two, a 16 year old girl and the 15-year-old boy, both from Lee Township in Allegan County, have been remanded to the county juvenile facility.
