KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Dr. John Dunn says he looks forward to helping trustees select his successor as president of Western Michigan University.
“I intend to make this a very active and fully engaged year and get us in continuing good situations so we can attract the ninth president and welcome she or he with open arms,” Dunn said.
He also said he’ll miss creating change, both on WMU’s campus and throughout southwest Michigan.
“I’m very proud of the fact we were been able to do some major things,” Dunn said. “$500 million in investments for buildings and structures, and that also provided jobs and opportunities for others in our community.”
Dunn will retire next June, but has pledged to work with the school and the new president through 2018.
