KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Anyone who has a vegetable garden knows that sometimes the zucchini and the tomatoes can just get out of hand, producing more veggies than you can possibly use while they are still fresh.
Sometimes even the 300-inmates who typically are staying at the Kalamazoo County Jail can’t eat all the veggies generated at the jail garden at the end of Lamont St.
Yesterday Sheriff Rick Fuller donated 750 pounds of veggies to Loaves and Fishes for distribution to low income residents.
