KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The Kalamazoo County Fair is underway at the County Expo Center and Fairgrounds on Lake Street.
Parks Director David Rachowicz said they have found that focusing on families makes the fair work, and has helped them increase attendance. They have a Dinosaur Day, Princess Day and an Animal Day this year.
Today is Sciencepalooza Day at the fair, with exhibits and hands-on opportunities from the Kalamazoo Air Zoo and the Michigan Science Center.
There is also the midway, food vendors and the 4-H competition and animal exhibitions. The annual fair will also feature a rodeo for the first time in front of the grandstand on Saturday, which is the final day of the week-long fair.
