VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — A 75-year-old angler is dead after he apparently fell into Three Legged Lake in Bloomingdale Township while he was fishing Wednesday.
Michigan State Police say he left his home in Glendale early Wednesday for a day of fishing. His 12-foot fishing boat was found anchored in the lake at about 4 p.m. but no one was around.
Troopers were called and the Van Buren County Dive Team was dispatched. They found the body near the spot where the boat was anchored in about seven feet of water.
His name is being withheld until family is notified.
Foul play is not suspected at this time, but an autopsy may be ordered by police to determine the exact cause of death.
