ALLENDALE (WKZO-AM) — Classes start today at Grand Valley State under a cloud.
Police in Allendale report two sexual assaults that apparently took place within hours of each other near the Grand Valley State University campus over the weekend.
The first occurred just before midnight near the Burger King at 48th Avenue and Lake Michigan Drive. The second occurred two hours later early Saturday morning in the parking lot of Campus View Apartments.
The rapist in the first attack was six-foot-two with dark hair and tan skin, wearing a baseball hat backwards and basketball shorts. No description was released in the second assault. Police aren’t saying if the two were connected.
GVSU students were not issued a warning until Sunday evening, after the second victim came forward.
