BEDFORD TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Investigators are trying to determine what sparked a fire that badly damaged a woodworking business in Bedford Township.
It began at Elliot’s Woodship on North Bedford Road after 1 a.m. Monday and it took firefighters from Bedford, Pennfield and Johnson townships about an hour to bring it under control.
They didn’t live the scene until around 4 a.m.
It’s still not clear what sparked the blaze, but firefighters don’t believe it was suspicious. The business had been closed since Saturday afternoon.
The woodshop side of the structure was deemed a total loss. A neighboring pizza restaurant suffered water damage during efforts to suppress the flames.
