KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — They held an unusual counter concert to object not so much to the music, but the politics of Ted Nugent last night in Kalamazoo.
It wasn’t as big as the crowd that packed the Kalamazoo State Theatre last night, but organizer and pastor Nathan Dannison said he was pleased with the size of the crowd that appeared.
He said Kalamazoo in 2016 is just not the place for a Nugent concert, given the community’s feeling about gun violence in the wake of the February mass-shooting that left six dead.
Apparently, not everyone agreed. Nugent has added a second show at the theatre because of the demand, thanks in part to strong ticket sales on night one.
