PARK TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — A 64-year-old Three Rivers bicyclist is hospitalized at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo after being struck by a 74-year-old driver in Park Township.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office says James Peter was hit Wednesday on Parkville Road, south of Heimbaugh Road. He was struck by Alma Bernheisel, who is also from Three Rivers.
Deputies did not disclose the severity of Peter’s injuries.
Charges were not indicated against Bernheisel in a press release issued by the agency.
Investigators says seat belts and helmets were being used at the time of the incident.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the wreck.
