KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A Kalamazoo woman remains in critical condition with life-threatening head injuries after she and her husband were struck by a hit and run driver just before 11 p.m. Monday.
Nyakeisha Jones, 32, and her husband, Willie Grisham, 48, were struck from behind along Sherwood Avenue by a driver who fled the scene, investigators with Kalamazoo Public Safety said.
Grisham was discharged from the hospital Tuesday after initially being admitted in serious condition.
Detectives spent the day notifying body shops, collecting evidence from the scene and reviewing video tapes from area businesses to try and nail down a better description of the suspect’s vehicle.
They think the vehicle is a gray or black four-door sedan. They say it will have suffered front end damage because of the collision.
