ALMENA TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Just hours after a court date on drug charges, a suspected drug dealer from Paw Paw is back in jail after he got caught again with drugs packaged for sale.
This tim, sheriff’s deputies say they also found controlled substances in pill form. An officer on speed patrol spotted the suspect driving 82 mph in a 55 mph zone on 32nd Street early Wednesday evening and pulled him over.
The deputy saw the marijuana in plain view in the suspect’s vehicle, prompting a search. They found over half a pound of pot, over 1,000 pills and cash.
Investigators determined that just five hours before, the 24-year-old had been standing in front of a 7th District Court judge pleading guilty to possessing marijuana.
The suspect admitted that, after the court date, he had been making deliveries around Van Buren County.
Pending completion of the investigation and tests on the seized drugs, warrants will be sought.
