BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Summer may be over, but the construction season doesn’t end until the snow starts to fly in Michigan.
Battle Creek has just started a road project over the weekend on East Avenue South between Capital Avenue Northeast and Emmett Street that could disrupt traffic through the work week.
The city of Battle Creek plans to repair four streets in the community between Monday and Oct. 24.
Workers will be pulverizing the pavement, taking it down to the gravel then repaving. Most streets remain open during construction but there could be intermittent disruptions.
Anyone who parks on the streets while roadwork is underway will have their vehicles towed.
The work will be taking place on the entire length of Dane Court and Elsinore Lane.
Huntington Boulevard will be repaved from Gethings Road to Abbington Circle. At times Huntington may be blocked when crews are replacing the water main that runs under the road.
If time doesn’t run out, they also hope to repave North Monroe from Van Buren to the city line.
