KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety isn’t saying why a 23-year-old Kalamazoo man forced his way into a home in the 1200 block of California Avenue, near the Western Michigan University campus just after 4 p.m. yesterday and assaulted the occupant.
They say the victim was able to identify the man.
The suspect’s car was spotted at a home on Miller Road, and after public safety officers surrounded the place, the suspect surrendered.
Capt. Vic Ledbetter said they found drugs at the address and more charges may be filed.
For now, the suspect is being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail for malicious destruction of property and first degree home invasion.
