UNDATED (WKZO-AM) — Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will be in Grand Rapids today for a fundraiser and later this afternoon at a rally set for Novi in suburban Detroit at 5:00. After that that another private fundraiser is planned in Detroit.
His campaign isn’t saying where either of the fundraisers are being held, or with whom.
A new poll suggests he may need all the help he can get. It shows that chances are Michigan will likely remain a blue state this November.
The poll was done for “The Detroit News” and WDIV-TV in Detroit by the Glengariff Group.
It shows Hillary Clinton getting a bounce from her performance in the first debate with seven-percentage-point lead in the state.
With all the candidates in the count, Clinton gets 42% support, compared to 35% for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. 9% say they will vote for Libertarian Gary Johnson, and 3% for the Green Party’s Jill Stein.
There are still 9% of voters who say they’re undecided.
The survey was taken after Monday night’s debate between Clinton and Trump, with 57% saying Clinton is qualified for the Oval Office and 62.5% believing Trump is not qualified.
That is up slightly from a poll in August.
A new Mitchell Poll gives Clinton a 5-point lead against Trump, whether its head to head or with the other candidates involved. It also shows that the poll respondents beleived by a factor of two to one that Clinton won the first debate.
