KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — He almost slept through his arrest.
A man who missed his check-out time at a Kalamazoo motel, could be seen laying on the bed. Knocks at the door failed to get a response, so the motel manager became concerned and called Kalamazoo Public Safety.
Sgt. Gretchen Mayo said they entered the room to do a welfare check at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday and found the man in a deep sleep.
The officers observed methamphetamine and marijuana in the room.
They obtained a warrant and also recovered items they say were taken from several home invasions.
No information about the suspect has been released. He spent the rest of the weekend in the Kalamazoo County Jail and will likely face arraignment on multiple charges sometime Monday.
