DECATUR TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — A single-vehicle crash in Van Buren County has now claimed a teenager’s life.
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating to determine why the 18-year-old driver from Holly crashed at 36th Street and 96th avenue in Decatur Township. The teen had been airlifted to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo with multiple life-threatening injuries.
He later died at the hospital. One of the passengers was also transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The condition of that 15-year-old male from Paw Paw has not been released.
Both had to be pried out of the shattered wreckage of the Chevrolet HHR. Accident reconstructionists in Van Buren County are trying to figure why the crash occurred.
