KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office says a tree-trimmer is dead after falling 50 feet from a bucket truck while working on a residential property in the 16000 block of Watersedge Drive in Schoolcraft Township.
He’s been identified as 49-year-old Ronald Phillips of Three Rivers.
Sheriff’s investigators say Phillips plummeted toward the ground after a portion of the tree he was trimming late Monday morning fell unexpectedly.
Phillips was not wearing a safety harness at the time of the incident, according to a press release.
