VOLINIA TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Cass County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a collision between a car and a semitrailer that sent two people to the hospital.
Both the driver of a car and the commerical driver ended up in ambulances headed to emergency.
Deputies say 21-year-old Sarah Cullen of Northville failed to yield to the approaching tractor-trailer at Decatur Road and Marcellus Highway at about 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The truck driver, Jeremy Gardner of Covert, tried to swerve to miss the car and managed to avoid a broadside but still clipped the smaller vehicle, sending it spinning onto its roof.
The truck immediately jackknifed.
Seat belts were worn and alcohol was not a factor. Citations will likely be issued.
