KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Attorney General Bill Schuette says he’s going to support the entire Republican ticket next month, including presidential hopeful Donald Trump.
He sharply criticized Trump after his comments about sexually assaulting women surfaced in a decade-old tape last week.
One week later, he remains upset.
“Juvenile comments and conduct that views women as objects and conquests are wrong, whether it’s in the frat house or the White House,” Schuette told WKZO-AM on Thursday.
But he still plans to vote for Trump, despite the outrage.
“I’m not going to turn the master keys to the Supreme Court to Hillary Clinton, talk of Trump resigning is fantasy, and write-ins will not beat Hillary Clinton,” Schuette said. “I’m going to support the Republican ticket and I’m not going to abandon the party, either.”
Lt. Gov. Brian Calley and Congressman Fred Upton were among the Republicans who urged Trump to end his campaign last week.
