DOWAGIAC (WZKO-AM) — Sheriff’s deputies in Cass County say a 30-year-old man is hospitalized after driving into a tree that was downed across Atwood Road in Wayne Township.
It happened before 5 a.m. as Joshua Bailey approached Dewey Lake Street. According to a press release, he told investigators he saw the tree in the roadway but was unable to stop his southbound vehicle in time.
He was rushed by ambulance to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac with minor injuries.
The wreck remains under investigation. It’s not believed alcohol was a factor in the collision.
