FAIRBANKS, ALASKA (WKZO-AM) — Police in Alaska have arrested a man in connection to the shooting of a Fairbanks Police Department officer with southwest Michigan ties.
KTVF-TV reports Anthony Alexie, 29, was jailed on multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, on Tuesday.
Sgt. Allen Brandt was struck by five rounds while responding to a shots fired call early Sunday. He remains in stable condition at a hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.
Brandt has been with the Fairbanks Police Department for 11 years. He graduated from Sturgis High School in 2000.
