KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Police in Battle Creek say a 58-year-old is jailed for slicing open his 45-year-old housemate in a drunken altercation at a residence on Bennett Street.
Officers were called to the home at around midnight. Police said they had been called to the same house two other times within three hours late Thursday to quell arguments between both men.
Investigators say the suspect was told to go upstairs at around 10 p.m. He came downstairs with a knife two hours later, according to a press release from the police agency.
The victim suffered a cut to his hand while defending himself. The suspect suffered a cut above his eye after falling down and hitting his head. He was taken to jail after on assault with intent to murder charges after getting stitched up at a local hospital.
