KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A hit-and-run driver who left a trail of clothing and illegal drugs behind is still on the lam after causing an accident that left two women injured.
Kalamazoo Public Safety was dispatched to South Rose and West Vine streets and found the wrecks of two vehicles. The crash investigation determined that the suspect, a 36-year-old male from Kalamazoo, ran the red light at the intersection and struck the driver’s side of the other vehicle.
Witnesses say he got out of his vehicle and ran. A police dog was put on the trail, but only found articles of the suspect’s clothing and suspected drugs. The man, who has been identified, was already wanted on two outstanding warrants. New charges will be added to the list.
The women were treated at Bronson Methodist Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
