ALAMO TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) –Kalamazoo County Deputies are anxious to solve a crash that was vaguely reminiscent of Kalamazoo’s bicycle tragedy, after a driver in a pickup crashed into a group of cyclists on North 6th St. and Ravine Road and then sped from the scene.
Deputies have now released the names of the two victims. 50-year-old Mathew Sides of Plainwell and 44-year-old Andrea Fore of Kalamazoo were both treated for their injuries at Bronson Methodist and have since been discharged.
Two other cyclists with the group were not injured. All of them were wearing helmets and did have lighting on their bicycles.
Deputies say the pickup was dark in color and suffered damage to the passenger side. They have recovered pieces of a broken headlamp, that may help investigators identify the make and model year of the vehicle involved.
Anyone who may have information about the crash is encouraged to call the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department.
