BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — There will be more than Christmas bells ringing Saturday evening when Battle Creek’s Christmas Parade rolls through the downtown, there will be wedding bells as well.
WIN-985’s Phil O’Reilly and his bride to be, Jessie Schuemann and her six children will climb on a float as they are escorted down the parade route by the Harper Creek High School Band, playing “Here Comes the Bride”.
The float will stop in front of AccessVision on Michigan Avenue, they will say their “I Do’s”, the band will strike up the “Wedding March” and off they will go at 5 m.p.h. to the wedding reception.
Morning Co-host Kim Brixton describes herself as the “unofficial matchmaker” who got them together.
The happy couple met for the first time three years ago at the parade and they are just following it through to its logical conclusion.
They are getting married and the whole town is invited. The Parade begins at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, November 19.
