LANSING (WKZO-AM) — Christmas has come early for the two former aides who worked for disgraced former state representatives Cindy Gamrat, R-Plainwell, and Todd Courser, R-Lapeer.
They filed whistleblower after they leaked information about what was going on between the two married Tea Party Republicans to the Detroit News and were subsequently fired.
Keith Allard and Ben Graham will split a $515,000 settlement with their lawyers. State officials say its less expensive to just pay them off and deny any guilt than to litigate the case.
It is also more convenient if there was indeed culpability on the part of the speaker’s office for not acting sooner, if the speaker’s staff was being kept informed of the misconduct that was taking place.
