FABIUS TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — A Three Rivers man has been jailed for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol after striking a bicyclist in Fabius Township.
Sheriff’s deputies in St. Joseph County say 73-year-old Larry Campbell struck 34-year-old James Gould from behind as the bicyclist was pedaling eastbound on Hoffman Road west of Kerr Creek Road after 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Gould, who was airlifted to Kalamazoo, was listed in stable condition when he was checked into Bronson Methodist Hospital.
Gould, who is also from Three Rivers, was reportedly alert upon his arrival at the hospital. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
