KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Police in Kalamazoo Township say they’re looking for a man who took off running after crashing his car into a utility pole at Trimble and Highland avenues, leaving behind a one-year-old boy strapped in his car seat.
A pursuit began after officers tried to pull the vehicle over for a traffic violation on Henson Avenue near Gull Road before 3 p.m. Tuesday. A Kalamazoo Public Safety tracking dog was unable to track the suspect.
The boy was not hurt and was released to his mother by child protective services after a hospital check-up.
Investigators say the suspect is in his late teens or early 20s.
